The Concrete Institute of Australia (CIA) will host its upcoming national Durability Roadshow throughout November 2026, exploring how lessons from existing infrastructure can inform the design and construction of more durable, resilient and sustainable concrete structures.
The roadshow will examine concrete durability from past, present and future perspectives, focusing on the challenges facing asset owners, designers and contractors, alongside advancements in low-carbon concrete, innovative materials and performance-based design.
Industry experts, including Professor Vute Sirivivatnanon (SmartCrete and UTS), Dr Daksh Baweja (DMC Consulting) and Greg van Rooyen (BG&E), will share insights into sustainable concrete design, durability specifications and real-world infrastructure applications.
Key topics will include supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), high-performance concrete, recycled materials, emerging technologies and practical approaches to achieving long-term structural performance.
Roadshow Dates and Locations:
Sydney: 4 November 2026
Brisbane: 5 November 2026
Melbourne: 11 November 2026
Newcastle: 12 November 2026
Perth: 16 November 2026
Adelaide: 18 November 2026
Each seminar will run from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (local time) and provide three hours of structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
The roadshow offers an opportunity for engineers, researchers, contractors, material suppliers and asset owners to exchange knowledge and explore practical solutions for extending infrastructure service life while reducing the environmental impact of concrete construction.
