Project Overview: Improving Concrete Pump Road Safety

Workshop 1.0

The Concrete Pumping Association of Australia injunction with Tiger Spider wants YOU to get involved with our project with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator's (NHVR) latest safety program, the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI).

Our project - Improving Concrete Pump Road Safety - was granted $205,000 in funding in September of 2021. We're incredibly motivated to work in junction with Tiger Spider (a transport engineering consultancy with expert skills in data analysis and research) to evaluate and understand crash risk with the end goal of finding a practical use for that information to develop standards for safe vehicle roads and equipment, provide education and information and seek innovation.

We recently conducted a "Kick-Off Meeting" to expand on why the CPAA & Tiger Spider have partnered to undertake this project as well as identify the key objectives of the project and understand the  and share your voice! WORKSHOP 2.0

Workshop 2.0 informed stakeholders about the outcomes of the International Review and Market Scan. Tiger Spider will discuss these findings and introduce the next stages in the project focusing on three (3) key areas of interest:

  1. Fleet Simulation Study
  2. Operating Risks Assessment
  3. Operating Conditions Review

WORKSHOP 3.0. FIELD TESTING AND OPERATING STUDIES – 31 AUG 2022 @ 10am AEST

Stakeholders you are invited to join us and learn about the major outcomes of the Fleet performance and risks assessment and Field testing and operating studies. See attached flyer for more details about the Workshop, Speakers and Topics to be covered. Additional materials, videos, images and interim reports will be circulated to attendees in the coming weeks.

Tiger Spider will discuss the findings and introduce the next stage in the project focusing on the final two (2) stages:

  1. Guidelines and standards development
  2. Develop Training material
