Showcasing the recent 2014 National Expo and Picnic, the Annual Magazine is filled with updates from across the concrete pumping industry over 2014. Over 1,250 copies have ben printed and posted this month to members and non-members of the Assoication.

NSW Workcover Introduce 12 new codes of practice

Victorian Registration Requirements for Concrete Pumps

From 1 July 2014, new Occupational Health and Safety Amendment Regulations 2014 came into effect in Victoria. These regulations introduced a new duty that requires the design of all new truck mounted concrete placing booms to be registered with the Victorian WorkCover Authority (VWA), formerly known as WorkSafe Victoria.
Safety Bulletin - Duty of Care

In recent months the Association has been working towards publishing its first ‘Safety Bulletin’ to keep industry participants abreast of current issues relevant to our members. This Safety Bulletin has been developed and published to remind owners and operators of concrete placing booms of their ‘duty of care’ when determining factors relevant to ‘who should’ and ‘how’ to carry out all inspections on their plant.
Association Reactivating Review of AS2550.15

Of particular interest to the Association is the recent proposed draft of AS 2550.15 - Cranes, Hoist and Winches which has direct effect on members. The Association through its membership to ME005-15 Sub-Committee is proposing to reactivate the work of the committee and resolve the well overdue revision of the 1994 publication.
Canada to introduce safety standards and certification

The B.C Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) in conjunction with the B.C Ready-Mixed Concrete Association (BCRMCA) are working towards the development of uniform safety standards for competencies in concrete pump operation and a certified testing regime in the province.
